1. Overview

SynthPDF (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates www.synthpdf.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Most of our tools process files entirely in your browser — your documents never leave your device and we never see them.

2. Information We Collect

  • Usage analytics — We use PostHog to collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, tool usage, session duration). No personally identifiable information is collected.
  • Account data — If you create an account, we store your email address and hashed password. We do not store payment card details; payments are handled by Razorpay.
  • Files uploaded for server-side tools — A small number of tools (e.g. AI Summarize, Translate) send your file to our servers for processing. Files are deleted immediately after your result is returned — we do not retain them.
  • Browser-only tools— Tools labelled “Browser-only” (Merge, Split, Compress, etc.) process files entirely on your device. No file data is transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the SynthPDF service.
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
  • To send the newsletter, if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • To process payments via Razorpay for Pro plan subscriptions.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of first-party cookies for session management and preference storage. PostHog may set analytics cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the third-party services required to operate SynthPDF:

  • PostHog — anonymised analytics
  • Razorpay — payment processing
  • Google Fonts — font delivery

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@synthpdf.com. Uploaded files processed server-side are deleted immediately after processing — they are never stored.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@synthpdf.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email to registered users. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
