Why Convert Excel to PDF?

Sharing a spreadsheet as .xlsx means recipients can accidentally edit or delete data, see hidden sheets, or have the layout break if they don't have the same Excel version. Converting to PDF locks the content in place — what you send is exactly what they see.

What Gets Preserved in the PDF

• Column widths and row heights — preserved exactly as set in Excel
• Cell formatting — bold, italic, font colours, cell backgrounds, borders
• Merged cells — spanning cells render correctly
• Charts and graphs — embedded charts are included as rendered images
• Print areas — if you've set a print area in Excel, only that area is converted
• Conditional formatting — colours and icons applied by rules are frozen into the output
• Calculated values — formula results appear as their final calculated value, not the formula

Handling Large Spreadsheets

Very wide spreadsheets (many columns) that extend beyond the page width are automatically handled based on your Excel print settings:

• Fit to width — scales content so all columns fit on one page width
• Natural page breaks — respects your manually set page breaks
• Landscape orientation — for wide tables, switching to landscape fits more columns per page

Google Sheets to PDF

Our tool accepts .xlsx format. If you're working in Google Sheets:

1. File → Download → Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)
2. Upload the downloaded .xlsx to our tool
3. Download the converted PDF

Alternatively, Google Sheets has a built-in PDF export (File → Download → PDF document) which also works well for simple spreadsheets.
